William⁷ Carman (James⁶, John⁵, Caleb⁴, James³, Caleb², John¹)  was born 25 December 1820 in New Jersey; died in 1878 in Lewis County, Missouri. He married on 2 January 1841 at Mt. Holly, Burlington County, New Jersey to Charlotte H. Chandler, born 29 September 1822 in Monmouth County, New Jersey; died about 1885 in Lewis County, Missouri; daughter of Stacey and Elizabeth (Dennis) Chandler.
