In one home-spun letter we have Adam Carman named as a son of John Carman (they spelled it Jhon then, an abbreviated Jonathan) and that Adam had two brothers, Israel and John who went to Nova Scotia, which is what he was trying to spell. And that they were all from "this place" (Baldwin) which was simply know as Hempstead in their time. This description only fits one family line. And with it the lineage of this Adam Carman is fixed.
