Sarah Therise8 Carman (Melancthon7, Phineas6, Stephen5, Richard4, Samuel3, John2, John1) , only daughter of Melancthon, was born 10 March 1839 at New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey and died 15 January 1890 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey.  She married on 10 November 1863, Thorne Pudney Sherwood, born 1836 in New York.

William Carman Sherwood - a lawyer in New York City for 42 years

Walter Aikman Sherwood - Major in the Army during World War I and Chief Surgeon of US Army General Hospital No.1.  At the time of his death he was head of Surgery at Brooklyn Hospital.
