Samuel3 Carman
(John2, John1)
was born 1659 at
Hempstead, Long Island. He was a farmer. In 1720 he sold his land near Rockaway,
Long Island (known back then as Hungry Harbour) and sometime between 1722 and
1728 he moved to Middletown, New Jersey, where he died between August 1728 (when
he wrote his will) and December 1729 (when the will was proven). He
married about 1691 Sarah, supposed to be Sarah Rowland. He named his children in
his will:
 | Samuel Carman
- born 1692 in Hempstead, Queens, New York. He probably died
before 1729 as he is not mentioned in his father's will. |
 | Richard
Carman |
 | Hannah Carman |
 | Benjamin Carman
- born about 1697 in Hempstead, Queens, New York. A Benj'n
Carman was on the list of debts owed to by Timothy Carman, when Timothy
drowned. 'Benjamin Carman, adult', was baptized at St George's Church 25 Mar
1731. In that Hannah (Carman) Langdon, his sister, had two of her daughters
baptized a week later at the same place, this could be that Benjamin.
However others believe he died before 1728 probably unmarried. |
 | Timothy Carman |
 | John Carman
- born about 1702 and lost in the records among the other John
Carmans in the area at the same time. |
