Ruth4 Carman (James3, Caleb2, John1) was born in 1729. She married 24 April 1751 at Trinity Church, New York City, New York, Samuel Prince, born 20 May 1728, in in Manhattan, New York City. As Ruth's father was a Baptist Minister in New Jersey at the time of her wedding, it can be concluded that the selection of Trinity Church was from the grooms side of the family. "Samuel was the son of famous Nurseryman Robert Prince, who in 1737 founded the New World's first commercial nursery, the Prince Nursery, in Flushing (Queens Co.), NY - which is where Samuel grew up... Samuel Prince was a prominent cabinetmaker in NYC (examples of his work can be found in the Museum of the City of New York and the Winterthur Museum in Delaware), who trained Thomas Burling the fine American craftsman. Samuel had substantial real estate holdings in downtown Manhattan (Prince Street in SoHo is supposedly named after him.) " - data supplied by D. Michael Iradi - thanks Mike
