Moses Carman was born sometime around 1725 to 1730. His parentage has never been proven, but by association, location and naming patterns (his supposed brother, Stephen, names a son Moses), this should be the place, unless he is totally out of the family tree which is possible too.  Moses Carman died 26 January 1778 at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania in the service of his Country during the Revolutionary War.

"Moses Carman concluded, He was a Private in Spence's Regiment in the Continental Army in New Jersey in the Revolutionary War. His children's names and dates of birth was written on a piece of paper and signed by him in 1776. It is now June 1, 1880 in the possession of his grand daughter Sarah Morris Carman, No. 61, Park St, Newark, N.J. Moses died of small pox while in the Army, Nov 5, 1792. Moses Carman married Abigail Aiken, born about 1735, died 3 November 1792 in Morris County, New Jersey, daughter of John and Elizabeth Aiken.
