Joshua³ Carman (Caleb², John¹) was born in 1665 at Jamaica, Long Island (William Stillwell Carman journal no. 24) and is one of the weak links with little surviving information about him, but is necessary to continue more well known family lines.  He married about 1685 to Lucia Dayton, born in East Hampton, Long Island, daughter of Jacob and Ruth (Diament) Dayton.  And that is all that I know about them, for a fact.
