Isaiah8 Carman (John7, Hezekiah6, John5, Caleb4, John3, Caleb2, John1) in December 1792 in Caswell County, North Carolina. He died 28 December 1875 in Casey County, Kentucky.  He married 29 July 1818 in Casey County. Kentucky to Sarah Orman, born about 1796 in Kentucky, died same date as her husband.

Isaiah served in the War of 1812, enlisting in Capt. David Holt's Company, 17th Regiment of Kentucky Infantry.  He was wounded at Sackett Harbor, New York on 25 January 1814 and was subsequently discharged due to the wound. He later applied for on 13 December 1850, and received, a Bounty Land Claim for his service.
