Hezekiah Carman was born about 1830 and died about 1850 for a short lived life. He married about 1844, Elizabeth Arms, born in 1827 in Kentucky.  Elizabeth went on and married twice more, her second marriage to John J. Nevitte on 26 December 1854 (John Nevitte died 31 May 1864 in the Battle of New Hope Church, Georgia during the Civil War in the Union Army) and had five children with him. She married third, on 19 January 1871, James M. Quiggins with no children.
