George Ellis⁸ Carman (Melancthon⁷, Phineas⁶, Stephen⁵, Richard⁴, Samuel³, John², John¹) was born 31 August 1849 (twin brother of William Carman) in New Brunswick, Middlesex County; died 5 June 1928 in Burlington, New Jersey.

George worked in the Menlo Park workshop of Thomas A. Edison.
