Elijah Haney8 Carman (William7, John6, John5, Caleb4, John3, Caleb2, John1) was born 1 October 1804 in Smith County, Tennessee; died 10 April 1904 in Graves County, Kentucky; and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Graves County, Kentucky.  He was married twice, first on 6 April 1824 at the Baptist Church, Smith County, Tennessee, to Elizabeth Wallace, born 28 May 1796 in Smith County, Tennessee; died 15 February 1865 in Graves County, Kentucky.  Elijah married second in 1863 to Hannah Auglin who died 16 February 1893 in Graves County, Kentucky.

Elijah Haney Carman, Jr. - born 24 February 1836 in Smith County, Tennessee, he enlisted in 15th Kentucky Calvary as a Sergeant in 1862 and died 10 October 1863 at Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky.
