Civil War

The Civil War marked a watershed of events in the Carman family in the United States.  From the sheer number of family members that participated in the war (on both sides), to the involvement with Abraham Lincoln, to the lives it changed forever, to families being split apart.  To the awaking of interest in family history as cousins started to meet cousin on the battlefields for the first time never knowing the other even exited before the war brought them together.
