Caleb⁶ Carman (Caleb⁵, Caleb⁴, Caleb³, John², John¹) was born about 1728 in Hempstead, Queens County, New York. He was baptized with his mother and siblings on 18 November 1748 at St George's Church, Hempstead. he died about 1828 at age 99 and 6 months and 9 days at Stanton Hill, Greene County, New York.  In 1768 he was in Dutchess County, New York and was one of the Executors of his father-in-law's will and referred to as Caleb Carman, Jr.  He married on 18 November 1748 (yes, same day he was baptized with his family) at St George's Church, Hempstead, Queens, New York, Deborah Burroughs, daughter of Benjamin Burroughs.

"Caleb Carman for 1. Memorandum - received of C. B. Civill of Coymans, Albany County, NY Oct 19, 1881. She got Sarah Carman No. __ this book for ___ that a number of families came from Poughkeepsie or Nine Partners, crossed on the ice opposite here and settled some 8 or 10 miles back from the river among them was Caleb Carman. The old home is on Stanton Hill and is now occupied by one of the descendants. She thinks the family Bible is there. Her own cousin Sarah Carman of Stanton Hill can give information. Received other statement of Miss Emma Brace of Syracuse, sister of Civill of Coymans. She got it when at Coymans of a Mrs. Calsin when she said was well acquainted with Caleb Carman of Stanton Hill. Also families left Fishkill and went to Stanton Hill, viz. Caleb Carman, Jas Burroughs, Benjamin Lisk. Caleb Carman married Deborah Burroughs. He, Caleb, died aged 99 years, 6 months & nine days. There children were Margaret, Judith, Sally. Margaret married Lawrence Tompkins had children. She died at Botasia and buried there. Judith m. Israel Tompkins. Sally m. Victor Osborn. She d. with measles aged 80 years. Benjamin Lisk m Elizabeth (Betsey) Carman see Book No. 23 for 12. James Burroughs m Deborah Lisk. Charles Lisk m Freelove Carman see Book 23 for 15. Mrs Civill also sent names of Caleb Carmans children she got from Mrs. Cronk in her letter of Oct 19, 1881.
