Amy⁵ Carman (William⁴, John³, Caleb², John¹)   was born 14 August 1727 in Jamaica, Queens County, New York; died 15 August 1804 in Goshen, Orange County, New York.  She married by New York State license issued 29 January 1753 to Joseph (aka Josiah) Drake, born 10 August 1720 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York; died 12 August 1807 in Orange County, New York; son of John and Martha (Oldfield) Drake) and a distant descendant of Sir Frances Drake, first person to sail around the world.
